For more than 10 years Sassi has been Scottsdale’s destination for fine Italian dining, wine and special events. Executive Chef Christopher Nicosia creates seasonal menus based on the cooking methods and ingredients of traditional Southern Italian cuisine, incorporating Italian olive oil, cheeses and Prosciutto; hand made pasta and breads and carefully selected meats and seafood.
Sassi offers something for every event and occasion, from a plate of antipasti with a glass of wine in the bar, a romantic evening celebrating a special occasion or a leisurely meal of multiple courses and wines enjoyed with friends. Born in Chicago and educated at the prestigious La Lumiere School and the Scottsdale Culinary Institute, Executive Chef Chris Nicosia’s passion for cooking and food has spanned his entire lifetime. His cooking style is greatly influenced by the time spent around the kitchen table with his big, Irish/Italian family. Chef Nicosia also draws inspiration from his travel experiences. An avid hunter and fisher, Chef Nicosia has traveled the globe in search of exotic meat, game, and fish, often preparing truly rustic meals right on the boat or in the middle of a field.
Executive Chef Chris Nicosia and his culinary team prepare a seasonal menu based on authentic Italian traditions and techniques. Italian ingredients including olive oil, imported cheeses and Proscuitto are combined with American pasture raised veal, while harvested fish and fresh produce. Chef Nicosia also prides himself on the sourcing and use of local and seasonal products in SASSI’s kitchen. Having developed great relationships with Valley farmers and producers, you will often find Chef Nicosia at the Farmer’s Market at Roadrunner Park selecting the freshest Heirloom tomatoes, perfumed basil and lemons by the bushel.

We seat arriving tables as soon as a table is available, usually within a few minutes of the time on the reservation. On weekends or for patio reservations we usually seat tables within 15 minutes, occasionally more when very busy.
If you request a specific table, room or server we will accommodate your request whenever possible. If the table you want is not available when you arrive, we will offer you a choice between waiting for your requested seating or more immediate seating at an open, available table. For specific seating requests we always recommend reserving at an early time which will give us the best opportunity to fulfill your request.
Outdoor Patios are open when weather permits. Patio tables fill quickly especially on weekends so we suggest a 5:30, 6:00 or 6:30 reservation if you prefer patio dining. Once seated those tables are often occupied until 8:30 or later.
